Hi Folks,
I'm trying to learn the Spin Doctors song Jimmy Olsen's Blues and I'm running into problems figuring out what he's doing in the lead. I'm not trying to cop it note-for-note, but I'd like to get the flavor of his solo, which I have to say is a little odd and a signature of the tune. He's not using any patterns that I'm familiar with in this one (or in Two Princes for that matter). As far as I can tell the solo isn't in D major, D minor or any hybrid scale that I know. Can any more skilled members of our forum help me out here? Thanks! |

The song is centered around D, but I think that I'm in the ballpark using an A blues(ish) scale centering around the 10th and 12th frets. I'm not sure what mode that would be. |
