Hi,
I can't understand how this switch should be used.
one manual says that those dips stand for octaves, and so I selelect which octaves should be inside the sweep. dry.gif
I know that when I puts up the 8th dip, and adds the 2nd dip, it doesn't add octave to the wah's sweep..

Other manual says that those dips are summed up to define the depth and width of the sweep. unsure.gif

So the question is what exactly those dips do, and how they should be used..? smile.gif

Hi,

Well, now, I don't recall ever writing an instruction manual that said the DIP switches represented octaves. They don't. What is the date/name/identifier of that manual?

Peace, Love, and Wah,
Geoffrey

Hi again,

The "Tuning your RMC3" page you had in your site said:
"The 9-pole DIP switch expands or compresses the SWEEP (frequency range) of the RMC3. The switches are set up in sonic progression covering 9 octaves."
I think this is the manual I ment. (By the way, why have you removed it?)
A description of RMC3 which talks about 9 octaves, also being presented in many RMC3 shop's item description, such as the Analogman's site:
http://www.analogman.com/mccoy.htm

The reason I ask, is because I want to understand if, for an example, when I play sweep such as:

2,4,7,

if I'll add the 1'st dip, will it add highs or bass?

and another thing, if I change from 2,4,7 to 2,6,7 for an example, will it beside of making the wah bassier, change something in the harmonic stracture of the sweep.. like emphasizing other harmonics etc.

extra info about the the sweep will be apriciated,

Thanx again, cool.gif

Hi Roee,

Thanks for the clarification.

The DIP section does cover a total of 9 octaves, in a cumulative fashion, not in any type of EQ fashion.
DIP2 = DIP1+both fine tuners at bass/max
DIP3 = DIP2+DIP1+both fine tuners at bass/max
DIP4 = DIP3+DIP2+DIP1+both fine tuners etc.
...
all the way to
DIP9 = DIP8+DIP7+DIP6+DIP5+DIP4+DIP3+DIP2+DIP1+both fine tuners...

The actual component values are not dead-on to this sequence, but they are close enough for rock and roll...

Adding any DIP to a tuning expands/deepens the sweep.

As I include tuning charts with every new RMC3, I decided to eliminate the online chart. I might repost the opening narrative, I haven't decided, but I have no intention of reposting the tunings.

Peace, Love, and Wah,
Geoffrey
