Hi there!

I just found out about Clark Amps through my search for a cosmetically alike and right sounding BF Deluxe Reverb. Since I know very little about circuitry, I was wondering if a Beaufort Reverb is pretty close to a BF Deluxe.

I don't know anything about the circuits either but I have a Beaufort with the onboard reverb and its awesome! All the adjectives aply, warm, lush, spaceous, transparent if you want, an on and on and on. It really is wonderful reverb. I think its the best out there and Michael Clarks construction you have to see to appreciate. Someday I'll have his outboard unit to go with my Echelons. Highly recomended.
Michael will have to answer your circuit question.

Hi Odd-Arne

Welcome to The TPN Gear Forum.

The Clark Amplification Beaufort Reverb essentially looks and, more importantly, sounds like the best blackface DR that one could ever find, no kidding smile.gif Here is a picture of one on the bench going through it's final testing before shipment.

The Clark Beaufort Reverb

Sorry I was talking about the Tweed Beaufort, see now your looking at the blackface Beaufort Reverb. Michaels amp naming is confusing.

Fender did the same thing. It went from the tweed Deluxe and then later on to the Deluxe Reverb as far as Fender amp lineage. If he comes out with a brownface Deluxe replica things could get tricky though. biggrin.gif

I had one of the Clark blackface amps at one point and it was absolutely the best blackface sound I'd ever heard and I've heard a lot of originals. It had that SRV Live at the El Macambo sound big time.

I have Clarks Belmont (Vibrolux) and as Brian says it is the best blackface I have ever played. It has a beautiful midrange which I have rarely seen in a blackface. The best clean on earth!
