Hi guys,
Just a quick question on the Beaufort Special.....can anyone tell me how loud these are? I mean could you do medium sized venue gigs without going through a PA? And can anyone give me a tone comparison between the Beaufort Special and the Tyger? Different amps I know, but would be great to get anyones opinion. |

Hi Chris
As we discussed, the Beaufort and the Tyger are different amps. The Tyger has increased headroom over the Beaufort, while the Beaufort gives you the ability to have some clean headroom, but then the Breakup comes on earlier. The Tyger is a "bigger" ( as against louder) sounding amp due in part to the increased cabinet size, and increased speaker area. They both distort well when pushed. As far as a medium venue goes, that depends upon what you call medium. If your definition of medium is a large one (300+ people) and a loud drummer along with it, I would mic either amp for a fuller spread of sound. Regards, Bob TPN |

Hi Ausguy
As Bob said the Tyger has more headroom and not as an agressive breakup as the Beaufort. By looking at the Beaufort you would never believe what comes out of it. It is one killer little amp. Its hard to turn it off! My buddy used his Beaufort to play a medium size place last week and it sounded great. I would say the place holds about 200 people (stanhopehouse.com) |
